"Panzer Lehr clears the way", south of Bayeux, June 1944

Before Wittman stopped the "Desert Rats" at Villers-Bocage the 7th Armored Division was advancing steadily south of Bayeux, expanding the limits of the British steamroller in Normandy. So we're here, somewehere in the country, amond the bocage. On a dirt road there are british recce Stuart Vs rolling forward, unsuspecting what's behind the corner. Suddenyl the first tank is hit by a shot in the glacis and it tries to turn to reach beyong the aim of fire but a second shot penetrates the glacis and the Stuart lands in a ditch. A Sdkfz 251/9 leaves its ambush spot and accompanied by grenadiers begins to counterattack the advancing British party. With its 7,5 cm Sturmkannone 37 firing HEAT rounds with a penetration up to 90 mm of armor the Kanonenwagen can be used when needed as a ad hoc tank destroyer. And so the British advance on this route is temorarily stopped, but the Jabos are just around the corner...

Stuart V, 7th Armoured Division, Caen 1944

The M5A1 I finished earlier in 2016 now has a companion, a British used M3A3 (Stuart V) built as a vehicle from the 7th Armoured Division during its clashes with the Panzer Lehr Division in early June in 1944 around Caen (Villers-Bocage, Jerusalem etc.). The tank will be a konced out vehicle paired with a Panzer lehr Sdf.kfz. 251/9.

Hobby Zone Modular Workshop

Just recently I had the pleasure to assemble a selection of modules of the HobbyZone modular workshop kit. Each module has to be assembled and glued together with wood glue, it also comes with magnets used for connecting the modules together without a firm bond, that allows you to shuffle them as you wish and organise your workshop according to the need of the moment or conditions in your workspace. The bigger drawers come with plexiglass screens so you can see what's inside. Personally, for me the biggest advantage are the wide drawers where you can organize your modelling goods, details, spare parts etc., this comes in handy whether you're a figure modeller and have to stowe your figure parts or a AFV modeller where you can place your piecese of the model cut out of the sprues. As I mentioned the modules come in various types, big (26ml) and small (17ml) paint stacks, brush and tool holders, drawers, corner drawers, etc.In the attached photos you can see I have already started reorganising my worspace after putting everything together. You can of course joint the modules together and build a conctruction as high as possible, I decided to build a two level workshop and that is just perfect to fit in to my working table.

Highly recommended!

Sherman V "Tulip"

Another model which I managed to complete and prepare for painting is this Tasca made Sherman Firefly Vc bacdated to a regular Sherman V fitted with 60lb RP 3 rockets as seen on some tanks of the Coldstream Guards operating in the Netherlands in early spring 1945.
