Tigergrab, 503 sPz.Abt., Potash 1944

In early 1944 the 503 sPzAbt. combined with more than 40 Panthers formed the Panzerregiment Bäke under the command of Oberstleutnant Bäke . Unit was considered to be a fire brigade, fighting back the advancing soviet forces in the southern secotr of the front. Unit fought to unblock the KG Stemmerman in the Korsun Pocket, several weeks later to find itself trapped in the Kamenets Podolsky cauldron. After these battles the Tigers' strenght was down to less than 1/3 of the initial number of tanks. And here my story begins. Twenty abandoned, damaged Tigers were found around the town of Potash, ten of which were photographed:

This particullar veh caught my eye:

When I saw it I knew it had to be built, and so I started with the Mid Tiger from Tamiya. Lots of aftermarket stuff was used to improve the kit, like turned barrels, PE, friul tracks, scratch, self made zimmerit etc. There are still some details to be attached prior to painting but I'm closing to have this build finished and painted. Hopefully within two weeks it will be ready.

Pz IV/70 (A) - The story continues

A quick preview of what I'm trying to finish now. I started painting the Licht und Schatten camouflage blotches this evening. There's a chance that I finish it tommorow so stay tuned for a update shortly. The are more projects on the bench right now, to much was left undone during the last couple of months but I'm trying to brake this stalemate...

SS HJ Panzerknacker - The Scenery

Today a quick preview on the scenery that I'm building for the two Hitlerjugend tank hunters. It will be a corner of a french shop, somewhere on the outskirts of Caen, where the 25. Pz.Gren. Reg. was fighting against Canadians.
